"Every child growing up should have something that instills within them a sense of self-worth, something to embrace as a unique part of their individuality. In my case, it was my ability to draw. A love of art seems universal in children. There is something joyous in the simple act of making our own mark on paper. As a child, I suffered from severe stuttering, and the shyness that resulted in the inability to verbally express myself. Art was my way of overcoming my stuttering, a way to communicate without fear of ridicule, a life raft of sorts. Today, the importance of art in my life has not diminished. It is my vocation, my career, my means of supporting my family… in short,
still my life raft."
The career of Stewart Goetz has spanned over 30 years, and he continues to work in both the fine and graphic arts. His art has resisted classification, as his style ranges from trompe l'oeil to pen & ink to watercolor to abstract, and he continues to work in a variety of media, while exploring a wide range of subject matter. His work has been featured in both juried exhibitions and galleries, and he has won awards for both his fine art and graphic design. His work is included in collections throughout the United States.
